Contemporary Bolivian Art Center - Patiño Foundation

This art center is found in what is the basement of the Portales Palace, currently the Cultural and Pedagogical Center Simon I. Patino, which is part of the Foundation by the same name. It was founded in 1992 and extended the following year. It provides bolivian artists with an appropiate place to exhibit their art.

The literary counterpart of this gallery is the Center for Contemporary Bolivian Literature, a meeting place for authors and readers. This unit also engages in the study of contemporary national literature.

In addition, the Centre puts on major international exhibitions, while endeavouring to promote Bolivian art and artists beyond the country's borders.

Every two years the Center organizes the Luz Mila Patiño National Festival, which preservers and highlights the unique ethnomusicological heritage of Bolivia.
